Three Voltskaya Songs
Based on three poems by
Tatyana Voltskaya, these songs were written in 2004 for the soprano Sarah
Moule and were subsequently adapted for baritone voice.
Set in English, using translations from the original Russian, their melodies bring life to Voltskaya's images of dark winter seasons in strange landscapes. There are three movements:
I circles have thawed beneath pine trees.
II the snow has receded
III the low clouds
Copies of the Voltskaya Songs are available for soprano and piano or baritone and piano. Email ant@antbailey.com or visit the contact page.
